Long-Lasting Performance for ATVs and Snowmobiles
The chaincase is an integral part of a snowmobile’s drive system. Housing a chain and two sprockets that transfer power from the transmission to the track. Its secondary function is as a gear reduction system allowing the track to spin at a lower speed than the engine. The snowmobile’s transmission connects to a smaller gear in the chaincase connected by chain to a larger gear within the case that turns the track and propels the sled.
AMSOIL is continuing to face rapidly rising raw-material, labor and transportation costs. Unprecedented market volatility and supply-chain disruptions are driving costs upward in unpredictable and rapid fashion. AMSOIL’s suppliers have passed on multiple significant increases on everything from the base oils and additives used to formulate lubricants to the cardboard and plastic used for packaging.
Competitors have also issued multiple price increases, including recent March and April increases of up to 25% from ExxonMobil, Valvoline and Chevron. According to Jobber’s World, 2022 has already recorded the highest price increases in over 20 years. AMSOIL has held the line on pricing as long as possible.
All AMSOIL products will increase approximately 12% effective immediately.

AMSOIL is implementing minimal price and shipping-rate adjustments in the U.S. and Canada effective Oct. 1, 2021.
Why Is AMSOIL Adjusting Prices?
All costs continue to rise. Our competitors have all issued up to six price increases to their distributors since the beginning of the year due to the rising costs of additives, base oils, steel, plastics and freight. While AMSOIL is working hard for our customers to keep pricing down, we are forced to implement our third price adjustment of the year to keep up with rising costs. As always, these adjustments are made as minimal as possible and with a sharp eye on our position within the market. Products will increase by an average of 1.5 percent, with some products increasing slightly less and others increasing slightly more.
Effective Oct. 1, shipping rates have also been adjusted to reflect increased shipping costs. The minimum purchase threshold for U.S. and Canadian preferred and catalog customers to receive free shipping remains at $100 U.S./$130 Can., while flat-rate shipping for orders under the threshold has increased to $9.99 U.S./$12.99 Can.
I’ve noticed that my little 17 gallon/3 hp under the bench hotdog air compressor has been running for longer periods of time to fill the tank. I also noticed a nice sawdust/oil slurry forming on the tank where the pump sits.
It had been 5 years since I bought this second hand and completed the first service. I don’t have a way to track hours on the unit but with longer running fill times and an oil leak somewhere it seemed like time for a bit of maintenanceses . The oil change used AMSOIL Synthetic Compressor Oil (PCI) – in my case SAE 20 weight. as specified on the maintenance sticker.
